Setting Up Collection

With tróf, there are 3 methods of getting your products to your customers. Table Service, Home Delivery & Collection. This lesson will show you how to set up the ‘Collection’ feature.

In this lesson you will:

  1. Learn where to find the Order Settings
  2. Learn how to switch on 'Collection'
  3. Find out what 'Collection' means.

What does 'Collection' mean?

In a nutshell, ‘collection’ means your customers will come to you to receive their order, rather than you take their order to them, as in Table Service. You can have Table Service and Collections switched on at the same time, whatever works best for you.

Let's get started

To start with, you’ll need to open up your Vendor app and tap on ‘Orders’ at the bottom of your screen. Next, tap the 'Settings' cog at the top right of the screen. Here you’ll see a series of toggle switches. Scroll down a little and you’ll find the ‘Collection’ switch. To switch it on, tap the switch and it will turn blue. Tap again and it will turn grey/white, this is in the ‘off’ position.

If your ‘Collection’ function is switched on, your customer will not have to enter a table number when they order. When their order is ready, they will receive a push notification to their phone telling them that their order is ready to collect.

While you’re here, it’s worth mentioning that you can also add the Pre-Order function to ‘Collections’. This allows you to set time slots for customers to collect, it also means you can control the number of customers per time slot. This can be useful if your venue is quite small and you don’t have space to safely distance waiting customers. Our Pre-Orders lesson is still under construction and will be coming soon, in the meantime please feel free to contact us to ask any questions you may have.

As always, if you’re stuck getting started please just drop us a message and we will be on hand to help you out.

We hope this lesson was helpful!
