Setting Up Pre-Orders

Pre-orders are a great way of offering flexibility to your customers. They can plan ahead and order in advance and you can be organised and make a head-start on their order too. Here you'll find out how you can offer pre-orders to your customers.

In this lesson you will:

  1. Learn how you can use pre-orders in your venue
  2. Learn where to find the pre-order settings
  3. Learn how you can connect your compatible printer to organise your pre-orders.

What are Pre-Orders?

Pre-Orders allow a customer to order something in advance. For example, your pub might open at 6 pm but Lauren, your new customer, wants to order her food at 12 pm to collect at 7 pm. Pre-Ordering will allow her to do this. It’s basically placing an order before an item comes on sale.

How to start

Firstly you’ll need to open the ‘tróf for vendors’ app. When you first open the app you’ll be greeted by the main dashboard screen. From this point, you need to select the ‘orders’ button at the bottom of the screen. Once there you will need to press the ‘cog’ icon in the top right corner.

Order settings

Now you should be on the order settings page. Here you will see a list, scroll down the page until you see the ‘Pre-orders’ tab. You then need to press ‘Configure Pre-orders’.

Pre-order settings

Finally, in this section, you can configure your pre-orders. To turn on a specific day press the blue check box next to the days you want to allow pre-orders, once this day is turned on a blue tick will appear in the box. Next, you can select the ‘interval’ time, this is the time of each pre-order slot in minutes. Here you can also select the ‘Max. Users’. This box allows you to pick the maximum amount of customers you can serve per interval. For example, if each interval is 10 minutes long you may choose to only serve 5 customers in that time period. Pre-orders can be turned on and off on the settings page previous using the switch tab.

Once you have completed this page make sure you press the blue ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page!

Print orders

Once you have saved and returned to the ‘order settings’ page you will see, once you have scrolled to the bottom, a section called ‘print orders (email)'. This allows you to connect a printer using an email address to allow you to automatically print out your orders once a customer has placed them. Make sure you press save and turn on the switch tab!
