Setting up Table Service

With tróf, there are 3 methods of getting your products to your customers: Table Service, Collection and Home Delivery. This lesson will show you how to set up the ‘Table Service’ feature.

Minimum Contact - Safer Operation

The Table Service feature is our most popular setting and, due to the current situation, it’s the safest way for bars and restaurants to operate. Your customers browse the menu, choose their items and pay, all from their phone without leaving their table. This means minimum contact with staff and other customers. The Table Service feature means the only contact your customer has with staff, is when they bring the order to the table. Simple.  

Let's make a start

To begin, you’ll need to open up your Vendor app and tap on ‘Orders’ at the bottom of your screen. Next, tap the Settings cog at the top right of the screen. Here you’ll see a series of toggle switches. Scroll down a little and you’ll find the ‘Table Service’ switch. To switch it on, tap the switch and it will turn blue. Tap again and it will turn grey/white, this is in the ‘off’ position.  

If your ‘Table Service’ function is switched on, your customer will be prompted to enter a table number when they order, so it’s a good idea to have table numbers clearly visible. When the order is ready, your staff will bring their items over as usual.  

You can switch on Table Service and Collection at the same time if you wish, whatever works for you. You can also have Home Delivery on too if you like. Learn more about Collection and Home Delivery here.
