What is the The Order Flow?

The Order Flow is the journey of an order from the moment it's placed, until it's completed and supplied by the venue. An order is placed and is immediately in a Pending state. There are different Order Flows depending on the type of order.

Order States

These are the available states in the order process:

  1. Pending – All orders start in a pending state once the customer has paid for their basket in the customer app it will appear as a pending order in the vendor app.
  2. Accepted – Where an order is not for immediate service, such as a pre-order, then the vendor will accept the order and the customer will be notified that it has been accepted by the vendor.
  3. In Progress – When an order is moved to the stage where it is being prepared for a customer this is known as in progress, at this stage the customer is informed by a push notification that their order is being prepared.
  4. Ready – When an order is being collected this allows the order to be marked as ready for collection, the customer will be notified that the order is ready for them to collect and the app will update to show that the order is in a ready state.
  5. Completed – All orders reach this state when they are supplied to the customer and the order is completed. For table service a notification is sent to inform the customer that their order is on the way at this stage.

Service Types

In the app there are four main Service Types, these are described in detail below:

  1. Table Service – The customer will order and receive their products directly to their table served by a member of staff.
  2. Collection – The customer will order and receive their products at a collection point by retrieving them when prompted by the order reaching the ‘Ready’ state.
  3. Pre-Orders - The customer will order for collection at a later time which they have chosen at checkout. When the time of their requested order is reached the vendor will be reminded to prepare the order for the customer and they will be notified once it is ready to collect the order.
  4. Theatre Mode - The customer will order for delivery to their seat, to order they must select a date and an event from the app. More details available on request.
